The Garden at French Farm and Watercolour World

The Garden at French Farm and Watercolour World
French Farm, Akaroa.

Recently we visited Nancy and Bryan Tichborne’s garden and were hosted for a wonderful two hours. The garden covers 4 hectares and it stretches from the house down into the valley and all along the lovely little flowing river.

Exotic and native trees abound and all seem to grow rapidly forming an interesting backdrop to the garden so any time is a great time to visit.

A great variety of plants are growing here in these fabulous surroundings. The garden itself is planned around the natural contours and natural features of the land and stream.

There are many examples of creative planting, garden views and interesting spaces.

Inside this planned garden we find Bryans (or is it Nancys folly). A wonderful live macrocarpa house for children of all ages to experience.

Nancy is a world famous water colour artist selling her works around the world. A visit to her studio is to experience her world.

Explore the website and make a booking to visit this garden on your next visit to Akaroa.
