The world’s tallest tree.

The world's tallest hardwood tree has been discovered 4km from a
popular Tasmanian tourist attraction, the state government's forestry body says. Forestry Tasmania boss Bob Gordon said the swamp gum, dubbed Centurion, stands between 100m and 101m tall. "It is the only known standing hardwood tree in the world to be over 100m tall,” he said. Centurion's height was measured with laser survey equipment. It was discovered in a state forest near the Tahune Airwalk tourist attraction, 80 km southwest of Hobart
